Laurie Dale Marshall — LCNS Director and Lead Teacher
Laurie holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare and over 20 years experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities. She has extensive training in positive behavior supports (pbs) and brings an important skill set to early childhood education. Laurie fell in love with early childhood while serving as a pbs classroom coach to preschool teachers throughout the county. She is so happy to be in service to the families at LCNS and is strongly connected as her own children attended LCNS. Her direction of the school is always to link us to the original mission of an inclusive, participatory, community-based preschool experience.

Stephanie Duncan — Lead Teacher
Stephanie Duncan holds a master's degree in early Childhood Education and an undergraduate degree in Art History. Stephanie is warm, fun loving, vibrant and energetic. She designs thoughtful and creative lesson plans, and has established a great balance of fun and learning in her classroom. She has been with LCNS since 2003.

Mishea Obiji — Assistant Teacher
Mishea has been with LCNS since 2002. Mishea is a talented artist and loving mother of one. Mishea has shared her talents with us by including her artwork in our end of the year graduation programs. She shows great compassion for the children, and is ultimately patient, and is a very consistant teacher. She has many years under her belt teaching at schools in Lawrence.

October Strange — Assistant Teacher
October has extensive experience in early childhood, having previously held positions as assistant and lead teacher at Stepping Stones and Kidtopia Childcare Center.

Board Members
We have a wide variety of board members, ranging from President to Events Coordinator. Each year a general election is held in which all LCNS parents participate in the voting process. All parents are encouraged to run for board positions, as it is important to add fresh ideas and perspectives to the constant evolution of The Lawrence Community Nursery School.
