Our Teachers and Volunteer Staff
Stephanie Duncan Director / Lead Teacher
Stephanie holds a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and an undergraduate degree in Art History, both from KU. She has been an integral presence at LCNS since 2003, having served as Director of the school from 2003 through 2010. Now concentrating her efforts solely on teaching, Stephanie is warm, fun-loving, vibrant and energetic. She designs thoughtful and creative lesson plans, and has established a great balance of fun and learning in her classroom.
Mishea Obiji - Morning & Afternoon Co-Teacher
Mishea has been with LCNS since 2002. Mishea is a talented artist and loving mother of one. Mishea has shared her talents with us by including her artwork in our end of the year graduation programs. She shows great compassion for the children, is ultimately patient, and a very consistant teacher. She has many years under her belt teaching at schools in Lawrence.
Kelly Sullivan - Morning & Afternoon Co-Teacher
Kelly has worked in early education for the last several years and is excited to be joining our teachers at LCNS. She is a mother and artist and enjoys storytelling, singing, biking and camping with her family. She is a Lawrence Native and feels strongly about supporting our community and one another as parents. She really enjoys working in early education and appreciates the way that children this age find joy in little things. She is thrilled that after her youngest son graduated from LCNS she was able to come on board as a teacher and stay an active part of our school.
We have a wide variety of board members, ranging from President to Events Coordinator. Each year a general election is held in which all LCNS parents participate in the voting process. All parents are encouraged to run for board positions, as it is important to add fresh ideas and perspectives to the constant evolution of the Lawrence Community Nursery School.
